Poetry

  Today we looked at all kind of poems.  We noticed that poems:

• rhyme
• don't rhyme
• are organized differently
• list
• shape: circle, square, animals
• illustrated to match what the poem is about
• Themes or interests
• dinosaurs
• fishing
• Narrative poems: tell a beginning, middle, end or problem/solution

We think the author's purpose for poetry is to entertain the reader.

Some reasons we choose to read poetry are:

• we connect with the topic
• interests: sports
• IT IS FUN!
